This page provides some useful links for photography. In this first section are some general links, but in the next are lins to some photo-related channels on YouTube that I follow.
Various articles:
- Here is an article on one of the largest bulletin boards of Norway explaining aperture, shutter speed, ISO and a little more. A great intro if you are new to these concepts.Â
- In photography bokeh is the aesthetic quality of the blur produced in out-of-focus parts of an image. Bokeh has also been defined as "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light". This bokeh simulator demonstrates how this works.
- Shutter speed selection is an article that describes shutter speed affects your pictures.
- This article explains how you can do macro by reversing lenses.Â
- Bokeh simulator & depth of field calculator is a simulator that lets you experiment with bokeh to get a greater understanding.Â
Various handy tools:
- I imagine you have your favourite tool(s) for editing images and / or video, but Adobe has made a new AI-powered tool for audio recording and editing. It also enhances audio clips you either want to use in podcasts or other videos.
These links are to some YouTube channels I follow and are related to photography and photo editing.Â
- Astrobiscuit - This channel is about telescopes and astro photography. He has some really good recommendations about tripod with engines that you can use for taking timelapses. And he actually answers you if you write him a DM.Â
- Cape Night Photography - This is another Pentaxian who takes pictures at night-time, both of the starry sky and landscape photography.Â
- Jamie Windsor - I discovered this channel recently, but it provide lots of useful tips on photography and image editing in Adobe Lightroom.Â
- Jason Yadlovski - This is a channel not directly aimed at photographers, but rather video editors, preferably that use DaVinci Resolve.
- Mads Peter Iversen - The creator of this channel is based in Denmark and is into landscape photography. He provides very useful tips on composition and has a practical approach to teaching.Â
- Mark Denney - This is a very useful channel walking you through new functions in Adobe Lightroom. After I found this channel I have realised I have been unaware about lots of the new features that Adobe pushes into Lightroom, and this channel tells you all about it. The creator of this channel is a landscape photographer.Â
- MrAlexTech - This channel isn't directly into photography, but video editing. If you do any video editing this person gives lots of useful tips on how to use DaVinci Resolve.Â
- Nebula Photos - As the name suggests this channel is all about (deep) space photography. As you know I have Pentax, a brand that has build in features for astro photography. This channel is useful for hardware / gear and what software to use for stacking and edit pictures of the night sky.Â
- Nigel Danson - He is a landscape photographer based in the north-eastern part of England. I love his passion for landscape photography and how he teaches composition and editing in Adobe Lightroom.Â
- Zebra Zone - This Youtuber is not a photographer, but rather a videomaker and he has lots of useful tips and tutorials about editing and filmmaking.
