Biathlon world cup finale

The weekend from March 16th to March 19th 2023 marked the end of the biathlon season 2022 / 2023. In total six races was planned for the weekend and it took place in Holmenkollen ski arena in Oslo, Norway. I was volunteering as photographer from Friday throughout Sunday and had access I basically needed to take pictures. 

The weather proved to be a challenge with dense fog on both Friday and Sunday. The race that was scheduled on Friday was postponed to Saturday. The weather on Saturday was fantastic, but the fog was back on Sunday. It was incredible dense on Sunday, which made photography challenging. Having access to the tracks I got really close to the athletes.

I used my Pentax K-3 and Pentax K-3 II camera houses with My Pentax DA* 50-135 f2.8 and Sigma 18-35 f1.8 on these images. Holmenkollen skifestival has the commercial rights to these pictures.
