Nature photography includes plants, forests, mountains, animals, weather, and everything outdoors. It’s a broad category, but the goal is always the same: appreciating the natural world. Nature photography can be a close-up of a leaf, a dramatic mountain scene, a bird in flight or a peaceful forest path. Because of the similarities I have grouped wildlife and landscape photography as sub-genres of this lesion.

Many people love it because it is relaxing and grounding, nature constantly changes, offering endless variety and you get to explore new places. Nature photography is one of the styles I do the most.

Beginner tips include to go out during early morning or late afternoon for soft light. The golden hour (prox one hour before and after sunrise and sunset), look for patterns, textures, and colours and to be patient — nature doesn’t rush.
